WHAT CAN YOU DO?

Volunteer

Volunteers are an invaluable part of NAMI North Coastal. Volunteers contribute their time and energy allowing NAMI North Coastal to provide important services and support. Presently NAMI North Coastal is in need of volunteers for the following:

• HELP WITH GENERAL MEETING SET-UP AND CLEAN-UP NEEDED. FROM 6:30-9:00 pm ON THE 3^RD THURSDAY OF EACH MONTH HELP SET-UP AND CLEAN-UP AFTER GENERAL MEETING. THIS IS MOVING TABLES, CHAIRS, AND PLACING THE EVENING’S PROGRAM ON EACH CHAIR.

• NEWSLETTER EDITOR NEEDED. ERIC REVERE WILL TRAIN. THIS WOULD BE A GREAT LEARNING EXPERIENCE AND REWARDING TO HELP INFORM HUNDREDS OF MEMBERS AND PROFESSIONALS REGARDING MENTAL ILLNESS.

• OFFICE HELP NEEDED. NAMI-NCSDC HAS TWO OFFICES: 1. ONE IN CARLSBAD FOR PAST RECORDS AND SUPPLIES FOR OUR VARIOUS PROGRAMS. THE BROCHURES IN THIS OFFICE NEED TO BE SORTED AND ORGANIZED. 2. OUR TELEPHONE AND COMPUTER IS LOCATED AT THE OCEANSIDE OFFICE ON MISSION. WE NEED PERSONS WHO CAN ANSWER THE PHONE, MAKE COPIES, AND MAIL NEWSLETTERS. 

• COMMITTEE MEMBERS NEEDED. MAKE NEW FRIENDS BY JOINING THE VARIOUS COMMITTEES.

• MENTAL HEALTH SYSTEMS NEEDS VOLUNTEERS TO GATHER ITEMS AND MAKE PACKETS FOR THE MONTHLY HOMELESS PROGRAM. TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED.

• WE HAVE A TELEPHONE TREE WHICH IS HEADED BY CAROL GALLOWAY AND SHE WOULD APPRECIATE MORE CALLERS.

• ADVOCACY AND ACTION HELP IS NEEDED BY LIZ KRUDENIER. THESE PERSONS WOULD ATTEND MEETINGS AND INFORM THE NAMINC MEMBERSHIP.

• A FUNDRAISER COMMITTEE IS BEING FORMED TO BRAINSTORM NEW METHODS OF OBTAINING THE MONEY WE NEED FOR OUR PROGRAMS. WE NEED FRESH IDEAS AND PEOPLE.

• A PERSON IS NEEDED TO ASSIST ANN CERECEDES WITH THE CHILDREN’S PROGRAM. THIS PERSON WOULD MAKE CONTACTS FOR PRESENTATIONS FOR ANN AND HER TEAM.
