MEETINGS
NAMI North Coastal hostsan
educational meeting every third Thursday evening of the month at 7:00 p.m. A
wide variety of program topics are presented by experts, including mental health
providers, governnment agencies, researchers, pharmacists, family members, and
consumers.
Meetings are held at St.
Michael's by the Sea Episcopal Church
Parish Hall 2775 Carlsbad Blvd.

In addition to the monthly
education meeting, NAMI North Coastal hosts a variety of support group meetings
free of charge. NAMI Support Group Meetings (formerly referred to as
Share & Care) offer the opportunity for individuals to benefit from the
mutual sharing of their experiences and concerns with others who have dealt with
and are dealing with similar issues. They are facilitated by NAMI trained
leaders, conducted in an atmosphere of care and concern, and modeled after the
Family to Family Educational Series.
NAMI North Coastal also
hosts NAMI Connection peer-based
support groups. It is an alliance composed of individuals (consumers or clients,
as they prefer to be called) who have in common the experience of living with a
serious and persistent mental illness. In NAMI Connection, consumers share experiences
and use them as learning oppportunities for themselves and others. The goal is to support and further their goals of self-help recovery from a mental illness.

NAMI North Coastal's Board of Directors meets the second Thursday of every month at
6:30 p.m. at St. Michael's by the Sea Episcopal Church.
